St Paul's Eye Unit has always been at the forefront of new treatments but this increased dramatically in recent years with an expansion of the research teams.

Our strong collaborative links with the Department of Eye and Vision Science at the University of Liverpool has brought scientists and clinicians from a wide range of disciplines together to work on preventing and treating sight loss.

Our Clinical Eye Research Centre links the University and NHS teams together, giving our patients access to the very latest treatments, many of which have been developed within St Paul’s Clinical Eye Research Centre.

Our work is supported by leading international medical, technological and pharmaceutical companies, and the patients who volunteer to be a part of our research.

Get involved

The Clinical Eye Research Centre could not have achieved so much without the support of those who take part in our trials, many being our patients.

They provide invaluable feedback to our researchers but also benefit from the latest sight-saving drugs and techniques, often before anywhere else in the UK.

If you would like to take part in a trial please get in touch. We recruit both people with specific eye conditions and those without.
