Liverpool University Dental Hospital is co-located with the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
It supports dental teaching, provides emergency care and a range of specialist dental services including restorative dentistry, paediatric dentistry, orthodontics, oral surgery and medicine and a consultant-led Dental Sedation Unit.
The hospital has approximately 150 dental units, including six teaching clinics of up to 20 units each, consultation and teaching suites for all the dental specialties and its own dental technical and histopathology laboratories.
As a teaching hospital we are able to accept a limited number of patients suitable for treatment by undergraduate and postgraduate students, junior hospital staff and specialist trainees. There are a limited number of staff hygienists, who only see priority cases.
In order to access treatment, you must be referred by your dentist or by the attending dentist who has dealt with your emergency treatment.
