An important element of working as an Anchor Institution is working closely with our local partners, whether it be other large public sector organisations, local businesses or small community groups.
Below are some examples of our partnership working over the last couple of years.
The Trust has been working with Kensington Fields Community Centre, which is located just across the road from the Royal Hospital. The project has included involvement from multiple departments in the Trust supporting the community that use Kensington Fields in many ways, including:
- support with CV writing and applications
- donation of old IT kit and furniture
- support with the creation of raised vegetable beds, fixed picnic benches and garden maintenance by Avrenim our outsourced estates team.
During Spring 2022, the charity Big Help Project used the Highfield Community Garden at Broadgreen Hospital to run free gardening sessions.
These sessions took place over 8 weeks and were available to families living in the local community. The programme included sessions on composting, encouraging wildlife, vegetable planting, finishing with a big group cook off.
The Trust was a co-founder of this Network, which brings together public and third sector organisations to promote sustainability within Liverpool's Knowledge Quarter. The network has grown with the development of Paddington Village just across from the Royal.
The group meet every quarter and work collaboratively together around a range of areas, including travel and energy.
