Course Description

The Disciplinary policy is designed to ensure a fair, systematic, timely and consistent approach when an employee’s conduct is in breach of Trust values and policies. This 2 hour course will give you an overview of the policy and the skills to effectively manager disciplinary cases from the perspective of a case manager. The training will also cover the just and learning culture guiding principles.

Grievance training will cover the process of handling a grievance whether it be informal or formal, and the process of hearing it. Grievances are initiated by employees when they have concerns or problems regarding their working conditions or relationships with colleagues. This training will provide you, as the appointed grievance hearing officer with the tools to prepare for handling a grievance.

Disciplinary Investigator Officer Training is a 2 hour course designed to give you the knowledge and skills of how to plan and conduct a fair, reasonable, and thorough investigation, when you are appointed as the investigating officer.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course you will have the opportunity to:

  • To gain an understanding of the commissioning of an investigation and key roles
  • To understand how to plan and conduct an investigation that is fair, reasonable and thorough
  • To understand the most common mistakes made in an investigation (and how to avoid them)
  • To develop questioning skills
  • To gain contextual awareness of the milestones of an investigation procedure
  • To be able to produce a quality investigation report

Intended Audience

This course is for staff who carry out disciplinary investigations in their role.

Course Description

This session allows staff to deal with absence management effectively in line with trust policy. It includes practical case study exercises and interactive discussions with guest speakers from HR, giving you the understanding to confidently deal with attendance management issues.
