I am clear with the team about what's expected from them and what they can expect from me
Why is it important?
When team members understand their job requirements, they can focus on the right tasks and feel motivated to perform well. Being clear about what individuals can expect from their manager, and knowing they are fair, consistent, and relatable, makes them feel supported, empowered and confident.
How do I do it?
I undertake appraisals and regular one to ones, giving team members appropriate guidance and time to prepare.
I set clear standards and expectations and give positive feedback on what’s going well, and manage any poor behaviours, attitudes and capability issues quickly and fairly.
I am approachable and my team know what they can expect of me including support and guidance, fair treatment, feedback, opportunities for development etc.
