Celebrating a Milestone in Healthcare Collaboration: Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between University Hospital of the West Indies and Royal Liverpool University Hospital
A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Nuclear Medicine Departments at University Hospital of West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica and Royal Liverpool University Hospital on 08 Feb 2024.
Representatives from both institutions attended the ceremony at Royal Liverpool University Hospital, highlighting the commitment of leaders from Jamaica and Liverpool to strengthen their bonds.
This MoU, signifies a continuation of a longstanding bond of friendship between Liverpool and Jamaica, and has been facilitated under the auspices of the International Atomic Energy Agency, for the advancement of nuclear medicine in Jamaica. With shared expertise and resources, UHWI and RLUH are poised to make a positive impact on healthcare outcomes both locally, regionally and globally.
The aim is to share knowledge, expertise and best practice to enhance patient care, research and professional development.
Prof Sobhan Vinjamuri, Lead Consultant in Nuclear Medicine, signed on behalf of LUHFT and proposed that these sort of collaborative arrangements fit in well with the overall Trust Vision and these connections can also be used by other interested teams to form and encourage their own connections.
Dr Sandeep Shah, Lead Radiologist at University Hospital of West Indies, signed on behalf of UHWI and reaffirmed the commitment of the Jamaican team to encourage fruitful collaboration to ultimately enhance patient care.
