David Gunn - Legal Services Manager (Aintree)

David has an LLB in Law and has worked in the Trust's Legal Department since 1999.

David's role includes managing inquests, dealing with clinical and non-clinical claims, whilst providing general advice and support to hospital staff.

Rebecca Anson - Legal Services Manager (Royal)

Rebecca started working in the Trust in 1995 and has been a member of the Legal Department since 1997. As Legal Services Manager, Rebecca manages Coroner’s Inquests alongside dealing with clinical negligence, employer and public liability claims. Rebecca aims to always ensure staff are fully supported throughout the duration of a claim or inquest.

Shirley Kenwright - Legal Services Manager (Broadgreen and LCL)

Shirley has worked for the Trust for over 35 years, 10 of which were in Radiology and the last 25 years in Legal Services Department.

Shirley is currently Legal Manager for both BGH & LCL sites. As part of Shirley’s role, she organises and attends inquests on behalf of the Trust supporting staff throughout the process and deals with all non-clinical/clinical negligence claims from formal stage to completion.

Shirley assists with queries/requests from BGH & LCL Sites and attend WSM to share learning from settled claims.

Nida Yaseen Shaikh - Paralegal 

Nida has completed her law degree from the University of Birmingham and the Legal Practitioners Course (LPC) from the University of Law.

Nida is a paralegal from Hill Dickinson LLP and is currently on part-time secondment at the Trust dealing with clinical and non-clinical claims.

Lauren Groom - Paralegal 

Before joining the Legal Department in 2016, Lauren worked at Paul Rooney Solicitors for a number of years. She has recently been promoted to Paralegal and is currently undertaking a Diploma in Clinical Risk and Claims Management.

Moving forward, Lauren will be dealing with clinical and non-clinical negligence claims as well as Ex-Gratia claims.

Emily Stirrup - Paralegal 

Emily is a graduate of Liverpool John Moores University where she obtained her qualifying Law Degree (LLB Law and Criminal Justice 2022). She is currently studying the Legal Practitioners Course and a Masters in Law at the University of Law (LPC LLM, due to graduate 2024).

Emily joined the Legal Department as a Paralegal in 2022 and deals with clinical and non-clinical negligence claims from formal to completion stage.

Jacqui Bromilow: Paralegal 

Jacqui has worked within the Trust since 1984; the first 10 years in Medical records and the last 30 years in the Legal Department. Jacqui's role as a Paralegal included dealing with clinical and non-clinical claims as well as Ex-Gratia claims.

Denise Robinson - Legal Clerk

Denise has worked within the Trust for a number of years as a HCA and joined the Legal Department as a Legal Clerical Officer in 2020. Denise's main role is to provide administrative and clerical support to the team on a range of matters including clinical and non-clinical claims, Ex-Gratia matters and HM Coroners Inquests.
