Aintree University Hospitals Stroke Emergency Assessment Centre (SEAC) is a 2024 NHS Parliamentary Awards winner.

The SEAC team, nominated by several local MPs, won The Excellence in Urgent and Emergency Care category.

The centre which opened last summer, delivers specialist care to the regions stroke patients, allowing them to bypass our busy Emergency Departments and get the specialist, critical care they need as quickly as possible.

Lizi Riley, Head of Operations for stroke services at LUHFT, said: “It is difficult to put into words how grateful the team is to receive this award.

“For the centre to receive such prestigious recognition so early into its lifespan, signifies the talent, compassion and determination of my colleagues to deliver the best care possible to our patients."

Kim Johnson MP, who nominated SEAC added: “The team in the SEAC at Aintree University Hospital are more than worthy winners of this award.

“I am in awe of the facility and its staff. The service they are providing to our local communities is immeasurable.

“Everyone involved should be extremely proud of this achievement.”
