A new clinic which will empower and support young people in Warrington to access free sexual health services is launching at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub this month.
The clinic, provided by axess sexual health, is opening on Tuesday 26 November and will support the increasing demand for free sexual health services for young people across Cheshire and Merseyside.
Launching as part of axess 4 u, a specialised clinical service for young people aged 19 and under, it will offer expert-led sexual healthcare in a non-judgemental and confidential environment.
Sian Davies, Sexual Health Service Manager for axess sexual health in Warrington and Halton, said: “It’s very important that we empower young people to take care of their sexual health.
“Our new axess 4 u clinic will mean there’s more capacity for our skilled teams to provide a confidential space for young people to receive treatment and advice. Providing clinics such as this enables young people to be able to speak with healthcare professionals about their sexual health problems feeling complete trust.”
Operating as walk-in clinic every Tuesday between 3.30pm-6pm, an appointment will not be required for young people to be seen by axess’ clinical team. The new clinic will run alongside the existing axess general clinic and axess 4 u clinic in Warrington, both based at Bath Street Health and Wellbeing Centre.
Services that axess 4 u clinics provide include:
- Contraception (including implants)
- Emergency contraception
- STI information, screening, and treatment
- Free condoms
- Advice and guidance
- Pregnancy testing.
