Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT) has appointed Matt Connor as Chief Digital Officer (CDO).

Currently Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, Matt has worked for more than two decades in a number of digital services roles at NHS organisations across Cheshire and Merseyside and has held a number of senior leadership positions. Prior to his CIO role at Liverpool Women’s, he held the position of Deputy Director of Informatics at Mid-Mersey Digital Alliance, and at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust, where he was Head of Digital Services.
Matt will join LUHFT’s Executive team in February 2024 and this will be a joint role covering LUHFT and Liverpool Women’s. 

Since joining Liverpool Women’s in 2019, Matt has been responsible for a diverse digital services department encompassing information and digital systems, information technology, digital projects, information governance, clinical coding and patient records. He is also the Cyber Security Digital Lead and Chair for the Cheshire and Merseyside ICS.

Speaking about his appointment, Matt said: “It is an incredibly exciting time to be joining the team at LUHFT as it continues on its improvement journey, which digital systems are an integral part of, so I was delighted to accept this position. I look forward to working with colleagues to ensure that our digital systems enable the Trust to deliver the best care possible to the communities we serve.”
